Conor is a
Strategic Advisor to business owners, boards of entrepreneurial ventures, and
mature and family business, providing strategic advice on how to develop, grow
and sell enterprises. As well as being an entrepreneur, business owner, venture
developer and equity investor, Conor is also a non-Executive Director of
several private companies, government bodies and not-for-profit organisations.
With a
20-year career spanning 15 industries, Conor has spent his time living in
Ireland, England, USA, Canada, Italy and Australia, working within family
businesses, small-to-medium enterprises, large corporations, not-for-profit
organisations and State and Local Government boards and agencies.
Conor is
also the creator of a patented technology that forms the basis of a successful
global product innovation. Since its development, Conor’s company has
subsequently commercialised this technology, having developed large-scale
manufacturing capacity over three continents and securing strategic partners in
all its major global markets.
A Member of the Business Development Council of South Australia since 2006, Conor is one of 12 Members appointed to advise the Minister for Small Business on matters relating to the south Australia business community. He is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and of the Australian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association Ltd (AVCAL).
As the Founder and former State Convenor of AVCAL (SA), Conor is recognised as one of the pioneers of the Venture Capital industry in South Australia. A recipient of the SA Government’s Venture Capital Scholarship, Conor is a graduation of the 34th Venture Capital Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, and the AVCAL Foundation Course in Venture Capital.
Conor holds an Executive Diploma of Business Planning, a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration, a Certificate of Marketing, and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Italian and English Literature from University College Galway, Ireland. He has also completed the AICD Company Directors Course and has been awarded an Advanced Master of Business Administration degree from Adelaide University School of Business.
A father of three and a playing member of the South
Australian “Golden Oldies” rugby team, Conor is a Member of the Management
Committee of the SA “Crippled Crows” Rugby Veterans Club Inc.
